Hong Kong’s First Pixar Fest Offers Character Photo Ops in AR

Fans can bust a move with a scarer or take an incredible photo with the Parr family!

To celebrate Pixar’s 35th anniversary, Hong Kong is hosting its first-ever Pixar Fest with fun-filled activations and AR experiences. Through August 15, guests can head to five check points at the Harbour City mall to unleash their favorite characters — straight from “Up,” “Finding Dory,” “Monsters University,” “Toy Story 4,” and “Incredibles 2.”  

After downloading the free Harbour Cityzen mobile app on iOS or Android, Pixar fans scan movie logos, and voila! They can find adventure with Kevin, bust a move with a scarer, or take an incredible photo with the Parr family.  

Through Harbour City mall, the Disney Hong Kong team partnered with Gusto Lab to create special AR assets and used Unity and Vuforia to build the experience.

It all came together to create adorable photo ops that magically make guests part of the Pixar story.
